35th Shoe Review: Brandblack J Crossover 2

    Background Information: One the best upcoming brands has to be BrandBlack. Not many people recognize this brand but the quality and material the company uses gives Nike some upcoming competition. These models were designed for Jamal Crawford who is a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Clippers. Not only does BrandBlack sell basketball shoes but they also sell casual shoes and clothes such as jackets, t-shirts, joggers, etc. 

    Quality: As I said in the previous paragraph BrandBlack provides great material in their shoes. Especially this one which is designed for basketball, it provides great traction and comfortability. The shoe also provides all the ankle support needed and has a knit-like upper toe on the shoe making it extremely comfortable. The "J Crossover" 2's also look real nice and slick. Overall the quality is amazing and top-notch. 

    Traction: 10, since the shoe has a similar pattern to the Kyrie 1's traction it has outstanding traction. 

    Retail: $140 however these shoes can be bought only on Ebay and bought for $70-$140. 

    What to Wear With: Basketball gear with some plain black short and long basketball socks makes the shoe stand out and look beastly.

    Overall Summary: For sure these would be in my Top 5 basketball shoe list. BrandBlack company deserves more recognition and more shoe reviewers are starting to make BrandBlack their favorite brands. If you are one of these people that want to stand out Brandblack shoes are the shoes for you. 

    

34th Shoe Review: Air Jordan 4 'Motorsport' Alternate

    Background Information: This is not the only "Motorsport" 4's that were released. There was another color way of the "Motorsport" which had primary colors of white and blue. Unlike this "Motorsport" this is more easy to dress with since it's primary colors are black, grey, and blue. The alternate "Motorsports"(featured in the picture above) release on June 17, 2017. These are much better than the others "Motorsport"4 design. 

    Quality: Compared to the other "Motorsport" design of the Jordan 4, the difference is night and day. The alternate one's feature that leather that is on the Nike Air Jordan 1 "Banned". So when it creases it looks real nice. The color way of the shoe is also way cleaner and much more attracting. Unlike those stay on shelves "Motorsport" 4's. Comfortability on the shoe is really nice because the Jordan 4 has great cushioning compared to other Jordans. Jordan 4's also have a bubble which is that area of the outer sole that shows the inside of transparent are which is nike's "bubble". Amazingly this "bubble" provides more comfortability, the only downside is when a wide-footed person wears this shoe the black are right between the outer sole and heel starts to crack showing little white cracks. However everything else is amazing. 

    Traction: 9

    Retail: $190 

    What to Wear With: Jeans are the best way to show off these shows. Especially if it's skinny, almost any Jordan shoe looks nice in skinny jeans. If jeans are not an option for you, just wear black or grey joggers.

    Overall Summary: No doubt these upcoming "Motorsport" 4's are better than the other "Motorsport" 4's. In my opinion these are one of the best color ways of the Air Jordan 4's since it is simple and clean. I predict that these will sell out and be one of the top kicks of the summer 2017.  

33rd Shoe Review: BrandBlack 'Rare Metal' WearTesters Edition

    Background Information: WearTesters is a website that has information about shoe dates and performance reviews. WearTesters love the brand BrandBlack because BrandBlack provides very nice material in their shoes making the products extremely comfortable. Some BrandBlack product's prices are also very reasonable especially when the company have sales. When BrandBlack have sales the prices of the shoes can go from $90 to $45. 
    Quality: As I said BrandBlack provides great quality material which means a great quality product. The "Rare Metal" model is a basketball shoe and is extremely comfortable and it's material is jacquard which is becoming very trendy in today's basketball shoes. If protection is what you want in a shoe this is the shoe for you. It provides a very secure fit and great foot and ankle support reducing chances of injury. On the heel of the shoe is the WearTester's logo and the color way of the shoes is the color way of the superhero "Nightwing" from Batman because the owner of WearTesters who is Chris Chase has a youtube channel and is known as "nightwing2303". 
    Traction: 10, the traction on this shoe is amazing imagine the Kyrie 3's traction but also providing cushioning. 
    Retail: $140

    Overall Summary: BrandBlack has great quality products even if it isn't a well known brand it is starting to be recognized by shoe reviewers. The "Rare Metal" is one of the best basketball shoes in the business and shouldn't be looked over. 

Special Edition Dress Shoe Review: Cole Haan Garret Grand Cap Toe

    Background Information: Cole Haan may be expensive, however they are probably the most comfortable dress shoes in the market. This is not only because of the quality Cole Haan uses but it's relationship with Nike material. Cole Haan soles sometimes associates it's shoes with  lunarlon(which is a material nike uses for most of it's running shoes). For example the Garret Grand cap toe has a lunarlon sole making the shoe extremely comfortable. 
    Quality: Beside from the shoes excellent comfortability, the material is great. It's material is real leather which makes the shoe have a very pricey retail price. The shoe is very simple and well done and can match with almost anything.

    Traction: Traction isn't really needed for a dress shoe since people don't really run in dress shoes. It's really about how comfortable the shoe is. 

    Fit: You can always buy your true size, however if you want a perfect fit get a half size down. 

    Retail: $230 

   What to Wear With: Obviously formal clothing such as a Suit or this can also be worn in with blue jeans.

   Overall Summary: Even though Cole Haans are very pricey, they are super comfortable and last a long time. The Garrets Grand's can be found for sale at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont. Specifically these pairs are on sale at F.O.C for $120 so if you need super comfortable dress shoes I recommend these. For $120 these are considered to be very cheap and the shoe is really great because that comfortability on the shoe helps people who have foot gout or those who have really sensitive feet. 

30th Shoe Review: Air Jordan XXXI "Why Not"

    Background Information: Russell Westbrook plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder for the people that don't know who he is, Westbrook is the person who broke the record for most triple doubles in a season and is most likely to be named MVP of the NBA. This limited release of the Jordan 31 is designed for Westbrook and is very different from the other 31's as you can see in the image. The shoe is called "Why Not" is because it's Westbrook's motto. These shoes released on April, 29, 2017.
    Quality: Everything about this shoe is amazing. From start to finish, all the material is amazing and used really well on the shoe. Three logos are displayed on the shoe. The Jordan Jumpman is on the Elephant skin area, the swoosh is usually where it is, and Westbrook's logo is located on the tongue of the shoe. What makes this shoe stand out so much is the sole. Usually the sole on a Jordan 31 is like this...

however the sole on "Why Not"is the sole of the Jordan 29 which has more stability and traction. (the sole on the "Why Not" is the image shown below).

    Traction: 10 since the Jordan 29 has great traction.

    What to Wear With: Basketball Gear or Joggers 

    Where to Buy: You won't find these for retail prices anymore since they did release in April. However you can find these shoes where people resell them. Online websites like Ebay or GOAT

    Overall Summary: These shoes are amazing and will definitely have a rise in price when Westbrook wins the MVP race. If you come across these shoes for $245 or less they are pretty cheap. But hopefully some of you reading this got these for retail and hopefully Russell wins MVP.

29th shoe Review: Air Jordan XXXI "Chicago"

   Background Information: There are many color ways of the Air Jordan 31 but the "Chicago" color way is probably the cleanest models of all of them. Just like the Jordan 1 "Chicago", this shoe has he same color way. However this model contains more things that represent Chicago such as the Chicago Skyline on the sole and the phrase "CHI" on the back of the tongue. This color way was released on November, 5, 2016 as one of the first of many models of the Air Jordan 31.

    Quality: To be honest I love the way the shoe's color fades from red to clean white. The shoe is very comfortable and durable on the outer however the sole of the shoe is kind of slippery which means the shoe doesn't have good traction. Don't be alarmed there are only problems with traction for first release models. Newer color ways of the 31 have renewed soles which have better traction than the older ones. On the other hand everything else is fine.

   Traction: 7 (only on the older models but the newer models have way better traction) 

   Fit: True to Size

   Retail: $185 (On this color way it is on sale on Eastbay for $150 and shipping is free).

   What To Wear With: Anything, the shoes looks good casually.

   Overall Summary: Many players that are signed with the Jordan brand wear the 31 models. For instance Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls specifically wore this shoe. There are manny more Jordan athletes in the NBA like Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, etc. Many players wear this because the shoe is not only great for basketball but the shoe has many color ways that match the teams uniform but if you do want these head on to the Eastbay website and get it for less than it's retail. 

    

    

28th Shoe Review: PG1 TS Prototype EP

   Background Information: This is the very first release of Nike's Paul George "PG1" which is why it's called "Prototype". Paul George plays for the Indiana Pacers and is probably one of the Top 10 players ion the NBA today. 

    Quality: Quality is amazing on this shoe especially for it's price at $110. It contains a translucent sole, suede midsole, and forefoot made up of mesh. For full foot support there is a strap that wrap the foot for maximum support. The PG1 is a mid-top which means comfortability of a low top and enough support just like a high top. Comfortabilty is amazing on this shoe, it is truly a hoopers dream shoe. 

    Traction: 10 (comfortabilty and traction are amazing!)

    Retail:$110 ( Price can't get any better) 

    What To Wear With: Basketball Gear

    Where to Buy: For this exact color way the buyer would have to go to Ebay or a reseller. 

    Overall Summary: Overall this shoe is probably the #1 basketball shoe of 2017 released so far. Price is worth for the shoes material. Traction is top- notch and comfortability feels like the shoe is worth $200. Paul George may not be as famous as Lebron or Kevin Durant but Paul George's shoes are way better. 

27th Shoe Review: Kyrie 3 'Deceptive Red'

    Background Information: This is an original color way for every Kyrie shoe invented. Of all color ways for each Kyrie is the "Deceptive Red". The color way was debuted by Kyrie Irving in the 2014 NBA 3 point contest but wasn't released until January 10, 2015. For the Kyrie 3 "Deceptive Red" releases next weekend.
    Quality: The Kyrie 3 has no cushion as those who have seen my previous blog about the "Black Ice" color way would already know. However the material on the outer part of the shoe and sole is outstanding. The sole features that colored area the same way the "Black Ice" has but the sole here is black. The upper, midsole, and heel is all crimson red. Quality on the shoe is really nice but if you are a person that wants cushioning the Kyrie 3 is not the shoe for you.
    Traction: 10(probably the best traction out of any basketball shoe released in 2016-17 which is why many guards in basketball wear Kyrie's because all of Kyrie's shoes have outstanding traction.)

    What to Wear With: Basketball gear is best to go with this shoe, however joggers or jeans would go pretty nice with it only if you want to use the shoe casually.

    Overall Summary: These in my opinion I am for sure going to buy because this is my favorite color way and I also own the Kyrie 1 "Deceptive Red". Not only is the shoe look awesome but for $120 thus shoe is very worth it. I don't know if these will sell out but just to make sure I am going to Footlocker to cop me a pair of these shoes.
   

26th Shoe Review: NMD R_1 PrimeKnit 'Gum' Black

    Background Information: The specific NMD R_1 came with the "Gum Pack", which contained 2 pairs of shoes that had gum soles. One was all white and there was this one. The "Gum Pack" was released on February 4, 2017 alongside the other Gum pack that was released which contained 2 pairs NMD C_S1. 
    Quality: You guys already know that if it's prime knit it's going to be a really comfortable shoe and  this NMD is very comfortable and feels exactly like the OG. Everything on top of the shoe is colored out in black until it reaches the stabilizer and sole. The stabilizer (on the boost) is white and the sole is a gum sole. Gum is a brown rubber that gives a shoe a classy look. As always the NMD R_1 is features full length boost and since this design is prime knit it'll cost just a little bit more than your usual NMD. Overall quality is really well done and comfortability is amazing.

    What to Wear With: Anything casual( chino plants would go really well since there is a gum sole).

    Overall Summary: Surprisingly this prime knit release of the NMD R_1 doesn't cost as much as other NMD R_1's mostly because the color isn't really limited looking and that this did release alongside with NMD C_S1 Gum Pack which costs way more than the R_1. However if you are interested to buy these I recommend to go to Succezz (who are selling both this color way and the all white color way) or Ebay. When on Ebay though be careful not to get scammed and always check the seller's ratings. 

25th Shoe Review: Superstar 80's Primeknit

    Background Information: Almost everyone wear the Adidas Superstar's today. It recently has made a really big comeback but the Superstar that you see everyone wearing is not actually the Original Superstar. Neither is the shoe on this review but it has the same color way as the Original. The Superstar that we see everyone wearing is pure white but the original has beige color on the shoe and a much smoother surface. 

    Quality: Since the shoe is prime knit this Superstar will feel way more comfortable than the leather type since it allows more freedom to move your foot. Everything until the signature superstar shell is prime knit making the shoe extra comfortable. The tongue is prime knit and has a gold and black Adidas Originals tag. Quality overall on this shoe is really worth it's price. 

    Traction: 8 (traction on this shoe isn't really needed because it is a casual shoe just for style)

    Fit: True to Size

    Retail: $110

    What to Wear With: Anything Casual 

    Where to Buy: Ebay or Adidas Outlet Store if your lucky enough. (I was lucky to find them at the outlet store for $60.)

    Overall Summary: Rarely will you see these in stores. Overall these shoes are very comfortable and stylish due to it's retro of the 80's Superstar. On Ebay these are affordable and if you really want them go ahead and buy them because these shoes are really nice. 

    

24th Shoe Review: Kyrie 1 'Deceptive Red' (Bright Crimson/Black/ University-Red)

    Background Information: The Kyrie 1 is probably the best signature shoe of Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Due to it's comfortability being better than the Kyrie 3 and it's look compared to the Kyrie 2. This specific color way "Deceptive Red" is one of the first releases of the Kyrie 1 before Nike decided to release all those other on shelf color ways. This being the first Kyrie 1 I owned I have no idea why I haven't posted a blog about it. Released on January, 10, 2015.
    Quality: Of the first Kyrie 1 releases this is probably the loudest of all. It's material is very durable since there is plastic on the shoe but still it is very comfortable when broken into. In order to break into the shoe you have to constantly wear the shoe or do an activity that involves running. Unlike the Kyrie 3 this Kyrie has cushion providing a more comfortable transition when playing basketball. Overall the quality is very nice.
    Traction: 10(But if you do use the shoe outdoors in rain, snow, or muddy areas it will lose some traction. However on basketball courts the traction is amazing.)
    Fit: True to Size
    Retail: $120 
    What to Wear With: Joggers or Basketball gear
    Where to Buy: Ebay, Flight Club(Only buy here as a last resort since they overprice their shoes), or GOAT app since the shoe has already released in 2015. 
    Overall Summary: I still use this shoe to play basketball and it has one of the best tractions of all the basketball shoes I own. I prefer to play basketball in the "Deceptive Red" more than the "BHM" because the "BHM" has lost some traction due to me playing outdoors in dusty areas. I've had these shoes since the 8th grade which shows how durable and worth it's price for the shoe is but still you have to take care of the shoe. Overall the shoe is rely nice and amazing for basketball. If you missed out on the shoe I recommend to use Ebay to buy it.
   

23rd Shoe Review: Kobe 9 EM "Philippines"

  Background Information: This limited release of the Nike Kobe 9 was only released in the Philippines. Due to Kobe's popularity in the country Nike had to give the Kobe 9 a color way to give the Philippines love back. The shoe was released on May 23, 2014 and only in "Titan" stores (Titan is like the Philippines Footlocker). To represent the Philippines it's color is red, blue, and spots of yellow which are colors of the filipino flag. Another interesting Nike did to show the shoe's representation of the country is it's outsole. The outsole is shows the outline of a sandal and many people in the Philippines aren't as fortunate as others using only sandals to play basketball. I really respect the whole Nike organization for creating this sneaker.
    Quality: Quality on this shoe is really awesome. Not only is the shoe unique on the outside but the comfortability and stability this shoe gives basketball players is top notch. The outsole is clear and shows the outline of a sandal and a bright red area with the Mamba symbol. It's nike swoosh is reflective and the upper foot area is a pattern of red, blue, yellow. Overall quality on this shoe is amazing.
    Traction: 9(warning: if you are playing  on a really dusty court you will have to wipe the bottom of the shoe to get more grip.)

    What to Wear With: Basketball Gear is the best choice.

     Overall Summary: Overall I love this shoe. Not only because I am filipino but the shoe just really looks amazing. If you really want to buy this shoe go on Ebay. If you want it in brand new condition the shoe will go for $300 but if used it'll go for $160. This shoes just shows the Philippines love for not only the GOAT Kobe Bryant but the country's love for the game of basketball.

22th Shoe Review: Nike Air Jordan 1 "All Star Chameleon" black/iridescent/white

    Background Information: This release of this Jordan 1 was for the All Star Weekend in the NBA. It has "Chameleon" in the name of the shoe because when you move the shoe the area which contains iridescent (blue-greenish color) changes color. It can be seen as metallic blue or metallic green or metallic purple which is very cool. The shoe released on February 19, 2017.
    Quality: Quality on the shoe is really well done. The iridescent makes the shoe really stand out and giving it that wow factor. The design is very similar to the "Blacktoe" and "Top3". "Nike Air" is imprinted on the tongue which makes the shoe really hype for others for some reason. The sole is "Icy Purple" which also gives this shoe another wow factor. The iridescent part of the shoe has similar material to the "Shattered Backboard" but isn't exactly like the "Shattered Backboard". The shoe comes along with White and Black laces with metal iridescent tips. Overall the quality of this shoe is really nice and well done.

     What to Wear With: Jeans looks best but anything looks nice with this shoe as long as the clothing isn't really loud.

     Overall Summary: Overall the shoe is very nice but I wish the retail was $160 like every Jordan 1 released. Many people can resell this shoe for no more than $240 but it wouldn't be as much like the "Banned" or "Shattered Backboard". But the shoe is really nice to wear casually or add to your Jordan 1 collection.

21th Shoe Review: NMD R_1 'Trace Cargo' Black

    Background Information: This design of the NMD R_1 is different from other NMDs. The reason why the shoe is named "Trace Cargo" is because this design of the R_1 is suppose to be more durable than the other R_1s. The shoes material wouldn't be as soft as the other R_1 designs (still comfortable) but it would be more durable.
    Quality: Quality on this shoe is very nice. The shoe is well done and has a very clean color way. Since the material on the shoe is more durable it provides more durability but isn't as comfortable as the usual NM R_1 material (still comfortable). On the heel is the Adidas Trefoil in a light olive color. NMD R_1 as features full-length boost and the 3 stripes that are black are reflective(which makes the shoe very nice).

    Overall Summary:Overall the shoe is worth it's price. Not only is it durable and comfortable, it looks very nice and has a simple color way. Adidas has hit the jackpot with the NMD R_1 design. Most of the designs they release are always sold out. The "Trace Cargo" design is going for around $170 or higher on Ebay and other places that buy and resell but if you got those for retail you got a steal.                                                                                                                      

20th Shoe Review: NMD R_1PK "OG"

    Background Information: The NMD R_1 "OG" is the very first release of the NMD R_1, making this shoe very limited. This one I'm reviewing is the 2017 release which is the newest release. It's like a retro.
    Quality: Quality of this shoe is top-notch.It is made up of Adidas prime knit and the sole features full-length boost. It features the 2 blue and red stabilizers and features the sock type which encloses your ankle and feels more comfortable.
   Traction: Rate: 9

    What to Wear With: Anything stylish
    Where to Buy: GOAT app, Ebay
    Overall Summary: Overall this shoe is my favorite shoe of 2017. It's going for around $270 on Ebay but you can find them for a steal on Ebay for $245 or $250. No matter what these will always be one of the bed NMD's ever released.

19th Shoe Review: Ultra Boost 3.0 Grey

    Background Information: This is the latest type of Ultraboost shoe. Ultraboost features all length boost on the sole. The shoe is created for running unlike the "NMD" and is way more durable.
   Quality: The quality on this shoe is really damn good. The sole features full-length boost. And the material is kind of like a prime knit type material, making more room for your foot, the bottom of the shoe is a durable rubber which also make running easy for the runner. 
   Traction: Decent but when it's on material that are filled with dust, it's starts gather all the dust making the shoe kind of slippery. However on cement this shoe is awesomeRate:8

    Overall Summary: Overall this shoe is very nice for running and walking on an everyday basis. This specific color way is very hard to find but there are many color ways of the Ultraboost 3.0. There is another version similar to the Ultraboost but it's called "Ultraboost Uncaged" which costs $200 retail but can be found for $150. 

18th Shoe Review: Kobe 8'Christmas'

    Background Information: The Kobe 8 "Christmas" released on the 26th of December in 2012. The Kobe 8 has many color ways but I'm doing this specific one because I actually have the shoe. Out of the 12 Kobe's that have already came out, the 8 is my favorite one because it has everything you want  on the basketball court.
    Quality: Comfortability is amazing on this shoe. The shoe is very light which improves speed and feels way more comfortable. This shoe isn't only comfortable and has great performance on the court, this color way is so d*** amazing. It makes the shoe one of a kind(Where do you ever see a leopard-christmas like shoe?). The tongue features the Kobe symbol in a neon green. On the heel is some fiberglass to provide stability. This is probably my #1 pick for low top shoes. Traction here is out of this world.

17th Shoe Review: Kyrie 3 'Ice Black'

    Background Information: The Kyrie 3 is Kyrie's 3rd signature shoe. This shoe in particular was the first color way that was released. This Kyrie 3 "Ice Black" released on December 26, 2016. There is another color way that had been released which is the "Hot Punch". You can purchase both shoe in stores or online.
    Quality: The material on the outer part of the shoe is really nice. But only downside of this shoe is that there is no cushion in the shoe. But if you break into this shoe it will feel fine, only thing is in the beginning the shoe will feel hard. What stands out on this shoe is it's traction. The colored part of the bottom provides more grip than the white part. Which is amazing because the white part already provides traction. The tongue shows the Kyrie symbol which gives the shoe it's "Ice Black" look. Ankle support is also really nice here.
    Traction: Traction is top-notch. Rate:10

    What To Wear With: Anything but what's best is to use the shoe what it was made for which is to play basketball in. So wear basketball gear.

    Overall Summary: Overall this shoe has it's imperfections but also has it's things that make it stand out. Like the way it looks and the way the shoe performs on the court. These shoes are very reasonable for it's price and has a choice of 3 color ways("Icy Black, "Hot Punch", "Samurai"). My personal favorite color way is the "Samurai" which releases on the 25th of January. You can easily find these shoes at you local Footlocker or Champs. If you can't find it there, you will for sure be able to purchase the shoe on online stores such as Finishline or Eastbay.
 

16th Shoe Review: Adidas Alpha Bounce Core Black/White/Granite

    Background Information: Alpha Bounce came after Boost for people who wanted a more durable   and cheaper shoe.
